Alexander Levitan, M.D., M.P.H., is a retired oncologist who practiced in Fridley for 29 years. His undergraduate degree was in chemistry from Cornell University followed by his medical doctor degree from the University of Rochester. In addition, Dr. Levitan has a master’s of public health from the University of Minnesota where he served as an associate professor of medicine. He received his training in internal medicine and oncology from Vanderbilt University, Harvard University, and the National Institutes of Health. He is currently chair of the University of Minnesota Volunteers Committee.
Dr. Levitan represents the Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) on the Minnesota Cancer Alliance Steering Committee and serves on the MMA Public Health Committee as well as the Minnesota Cancer Alliance Cessation Benefits Project Team.
He and his wife, Lucy, live in New Brighton, where they enjoy gardening and visits from their four grandchildren.
