Improving Access to Colorectal Cancer Screening
A legislative initiative is under way to fund a free colorectal cancer screening program similar to the Sage program. Hospital systems and provider groups have been collaborating to offer pro bono colonoscopy events. How can these activities be supported and expanded?
Cancer Plan Minnesota Objective 8: Reduce disparities in screening for colorectal.
Strategy: Develop sources of free or low-cost colorectal cancer screening for people without access to medical coverage.
Primary Aim: To engage and enlist health care providers and hospital systems to undertake free CRC screening events and to support the legislation.
Desired Outcomes:
· Identification of assets/resources
· Commitment of individuals to explore/create effective infrastructures within their respective area/community/workplace
