1. Financial report from MIPH and ACS

·         MIPH: As of 6/22 balance in MIPH account was $10,898.63. We expect an additional $10,400 in income this month and $7450 in expenses thru December 2007.  Projected account balance will be $13,848.63 at the end of the calendar year.

·         ACS: Restricted account set up for the Alliance last year has been used to pay for Summit 2007 expenses and to cover web hosting and TA support for Urban Planet for the MCA website and the Cancer Resources website thru July 2008.  Balance will be $564.25 after paying Urban Planet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Summit budget

·         Total expenses for the 2007 Summit (including meeting planner) were $43,002.15.

·         Income from Summit registrations was $7420.00.

·         Financial sponsorship this year came from a combination of “carry-over” from last year’s BCBS and HP funds, a Medica grant for 2007, MDH and direct payment for the reception by ACS and for travel stipends by MDH.  Additional support was provided in kind by Mayo Clinic, MDH and speakers.

·         Preliminary Alliance operating budget for 2008: $52,200

       (Summit $45,000, Web $3,000, Fiscal agent agreement with MIPH $4,200)

 

Working budget for 2008 should be $45K including meeting planner

 

Request approval from Steering Committee for approval of $45,00 Summit inclusive of meeting planner so we can move forward

3. Support from BC/BS and HP

·         We have yet to request support from BC/BS and HP for 2007 although they have both committed support for ’07 and ‘08. We can still request 2007 support for 2008 Summit for expenses we will incur in 2007 but could also consider requesting funds in the future for seeding Alliance projects.

·         Consider “holding” MIPH Alliance account projected balance of ~$14K (which roughly equals registration income from past 2 Summits) for Alliance projects (process TBD) and request Summit sponsorship from member organizations, including health plans for ’07 and ’08.

4. Next steps

·         Use next meeting to discuss a process we might use to award small amounts of funding to projects in 2008 for proposal to Steering Committee at Fall meeting.
