Minnesota Cancer Resources Advisory Council
After receiving a cancer diagnosis, many find the search for services and support to be an overwhelming task and, thus, a barrier to effective treatment and sustained quality of life. In August 2006, the Access to Information Task Force publicly launched Minnesota Cancer Resources (www.MNCancerResources.org), a one-stop-shop for cancer patients and their caregivers to easily locate local resources and services.

Whether searching by zip code, city, or keyword, Minnesota Cancer Resources connects users to a variety of programs, services, and cancer-related information, such as:

  • Support groups - classes, counseling and grief programs
  • In-home services - durable medical equipment, home visits, meals, etc.
  • Symptom management - addresses weight loss, nausea or pain
  • Hospice and palliative care- resources for advanced cancer care and symptom management

The Access to Information Task Force that created the site has since transitioned to the Minnesota  Cancer Resources Advisory Council, which helps guide content for the site and examine potential enhancements to the site.
