Patrick Herson, M.D., has over   years of clinical history as a family doctor, including seven years in St Cloud. In addition to his palliative care experience, Dr. Herson gained cancer prevention experience while working for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He also oversees Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota's disease management efforts, including its new Oncology 2.0 program with Healthways.

In 2003, Herson relocated to Green Bay, Wisc., to become vice president and chief

medical officer at American Medical Security. In addition to his administrative duties, he volunteered with Unity Hospice of Green Bay, performing supportive reviews and participating in the quality improvement committee.

In 2006, Herson joined BlueCross and BlueShield of Minnesota as medical director for Integrated Care Management and National Accounts. In this role, he oversees the case management and disease management programs from a clinical perspective.
